I love the weather, energy, and vibrancy of the summer! I feel like the summer flies by, and I never accomplish anything I set out to do. This year I decided to make a goals list for this summer. I love making lists, I always feel accountable and more motivated to accomplish my goals. Below are my 5 goals for this summer!

My 5 Goals for This Summer

  1. Spend as much time outside in nature
  2. Reconnect to my yoga practice
  3. Explore all of the farmers markets in my surrounding area
  4. Explore local parks, nature trails, and hiking destinations
  5. Read 2 books a month
Guide to Create Your Own Goals List

1. Set your intention

Whenever I create a list I usually have an overarching intention. My summer goals list is focused on reconnecting to my hobbies and nature. So first, think about what you want to focus on this summer. Do you want to concentrate on self-care, socializing, reconnecting with old friends, living a healthier lifestyle, etc.

2. Think of where you want to be in the fall 2017
It's a good idea to figure out where you would like to be in the future and then work backwards. For instance, I want to feel more grounded and focused on my career this fall. The best ways for me to stay grounded and focus is to spend time in nature and practice yoga, both which are on my goals list and will support me in accomplishing my goals in the fall.

3. Brainstorm on your interests and hobbies
Then, think about and write a list of your interests and hobbies. You can write down current hobbies, previous hobbies, or activities you would like to try. You can also look at your New Years Resolution list, and incorporate one of those resolutions in your summer goals list. Maybe you want to try start a new morning routine, get back into gardening, or focus on your meditation practice. Come back to your intention and where you want to be in the fall. Choose 3-5 goals that are practical and you're excited about!

4. Keep your list close by
It is really easy to forget about a list you've made. Write your list down on a piece of paper and put it on your fridge, put the list in your notes on your phone or computer, or write your list with a friend and encourage each other to accomplish your goals! Have your list in as many places as possible, this way you are constantly reminded of your goals!
